PIPAC LIVE

BCPBF The Cancer Foundation, in collaboration with Apollo Cancer Institute, New Delhi is hosting the first PIPAC live demo in India on 14th April 2018 in Delhi. This single day event will be a unique opportunity to watch a live demonstration and presentation of the PIPAC surgical technique performed by Dr. Sameer Kaul, Sr. Consultant, Surgical Oncology & Robotics, Apollo Cancer Institute, New Delhi & Prof. Marc Pocard, HOD Digestive and Surgical Oncology, Lariboisière Hospital, Paris, France.

The focused event to be held on Saturday, 14th April at the Auditorium, Indraprastha Apollo Hospital, New Delhi has the confirmed participation of eminent Surgical/Medical Oncologists, Gastroenterologists and Gynaecologists, from India.

PIPAC is a highly innovative technique developed by Prof. M.A Reymond from the University Hospital, Tübingen (Germany). Pressurized Intraperitoneal Aerosol Chemotherapy (PIPAC) is a feasible treatment option in peritoneal carcinomatosis of colorectal, gastric and ovarian origin – amongst other indications.

As you will further discover through this event, PIPAC is revolutionary in that it captures the unique properties of gas and pressure to optimize drug delivery, by vaporising standard chemotherapy drugs directly into the abdominal cavity. PIPAC – which is now being offered in India at several leading institutions, is a novel innovation in the field since HIPEC, and shows great potential to prolong life (and improve the quality of life) in patients with advanced peritoneal carcinomatosis.
